A lovely, very rare c. 1952 Steinway & Sons 45" Model Z upright piano made in Hamburg, Germany. We could not resist the lovely case and tone of this Steinway model Z. We acquired this piano recently locally in Tampa. From the records obtained, this piano was completed in Hamburg, German c. 1952, and underwent a restoration c. 1993. At that time, the soundboard was restored, the harp was refinished, and the piano had new strings, new tuning pins, new hammers, and the case was refinished in a closed pore finish. Lovely piano to look at and play. Has original ivories, and these ivory keytops are in fantastic shape. The restoration work was very good. We have tuned, voiced, and regulated this piano, and this piano will be the showpiece of any living room. Please contact us with any questions, or to make an offer. |

Rare - Model Z Upright Pianos made in Hamburg are very rare in the US and combine craftmanship with elegance in a wonderful looking and sounding piano. Quality - Steinways are considered the gold standard of American-made luxury pianos because of their impressive scale designs and the tones that these designs generate. Price - New ebony K's are priced over $45K, and there are no similar restorations of these Steinway antique models. Lower priced Steinway upright restorations currently available for sale are typically inadequate as instruments in either the finish, the acoustic, or the action restoration. Exterior Restoration - This piano now has a satin walnut finish. This Z has the classic golden age look of mid-20th century Queen Anne Steinways with that extra eye-catching molding throughout.
