Details

This C. Bechstein model B is an exquisite 6'8" grand piano was completed in Germany in 1906. The current model B from C. Bechstein sells new for over $170K. We were looking to create a spectacularly beautiful musical instrument in an exotic wood, and were fortunate enough to be able to acquire this premier European piano of the highest quality and restore it to an ebony finish with burl walnut accents throughout. We have recently completed restoring this piano to be like a brand new piano, with the highest level 7 restorations for acoustic, action and exterior components.

C. Bechstein is in the highest-rated category of prestigious luxury pianos at pianobuyer.com, rated even higher than Steinway NY for the very elite instruments. At 6'8", this piano would be perfect for the living room of a discerning concert pianist, who would like to showcase the highest quality instrument. This like-new piano is for sale at less than half of the retail price.

Please contact for more details or to make an offer.

How this piano may be different from other pianos you are considering

Rare in the US - Very few C. Bechstein pianos exist for sale in any condition in the US, and a like new C. Bechstein model B in this classic style is, in practical terms, one of a kind in the US.

Quality - C. Bechstein pianos are in the Elite 5 of piano makers - with Bluthner, Bosendorfer, Fazioli and Hamburg Steinway, all of which are European. The quality of pianos from these 5 makers is considered the best in the world.

Price - New C. Bechstein model B's are priced at $170K, and the only other pre-owned C Bechstein pianos available for sale in the US are typically 25 years of age or older.

Craftsmen - We had this piano restored in Europe by European craftsmen who have been restoring European and Steinway pianos for decades. We have tried several piano restorers over the years, and these are among the best restorers in the world, in our opinion.

Restoration - This piano has an ebony polyester finish with rare walnut burl accents, which creates a visually stunning piano for the discerning pianist and homeowner. The instrument has been restored to new condition, with a new soundboard, new bridges, new pinblock, new strings, new agraffes, new pins, new keytops, new Renner action parts (hammers, shanks, flanges, wippens, damper action).

First Owner - You would be the first owner of this fully restored piano. Buying a pre-owned, formerly restored piano is doubly risky as you don't know who restored what on the piano and when, and you also don't know how the current owner treated the piano since the restoration was completed.

Tone and Feel - This particular C. Bechstein piano is the pinnacle of piano making in our opinion. The European tone and feel of this piano is unrivaled, in our opinion, even among the greatest piano makers in the world.
